Yay! The 2014 midterm elections are now over (except for in
LA, which will be decided in Dec and AK, which will be decided when they count
all the votes…side question, why is it, other than Bush in 2000, that every
time there is a vote recount, the number of votes for the Democrat seems to go
up? Just asking…). And the results are in! The Democrats didn’t lose!
And at least Hillary won! How? Because many of her competitors
for the 2016 nomination lost their reelection bids. Say what?
So how is it that the Republicans didn’t win, despite having
the largest majority in almost 100 years in the House, flipping 7-9 senate
seats, numerous state houses and governorships (like heck - even MD has a
republican governor!), and the embodiment of evil in the modern world, the Gov
of WI, won reelection (at least to unions, the governor of WI, who beat a recall
and now won again in a general election, is this physical manifestation of
Satan himself)? Well, according to the President’s press secretary, the
Republicans did win; it is just that the Democrats didn’t lose.
Say what? But don’t worry, this is the kind of great logic
leading us as we fight, terrorist, Russia and China – Everyone’s a winner!
Somehow, I doubt the usually bare chest, tiger holding President of Russian
agrees.
Less #1 for today: Failure in the Democrat party is simply a
resume enhancement (aka Jimmy Carter).
Speaking of which, you gotta be thinking that good ol’ Jimmy
must be thrilled to be seeing Obama’s failures. Heck, Obama is so disliked that
even a 25% drop in the price of oil in the months leading up to the election
didn’t help!
Anyone wondering why, for the last 6 years, which saw gas
cost more than milk, no one has been complaining that Obama has been in the
pocket of big oil? And then right before the election the prices drop out of
the bottom of the market? I smell something fishy….
Anyway, the President, who said after the last government
shutdown that if you don’t like his policies you should go win an election
(challenge accepted), has decided that like, because 75% of the population didn’t
vote (kinda makes you wonder if he was including children and illegals in that
number), he was going to push forward with executive amnesty because that is
what the 75% of nonvoting people wanted! (Fancy way to say “I can do whatever I
want and there is nothing you can do to stop it”). Why? Because these illegals from
down south just want to come here and make a peaceful living. Except that during
the last year, more people from countries outside Central and South America
were captured at the southern border than people from Mexico, etc.
Although since like
25% of Mexicans are already in the US, you figure they have to run out of able
bodied people to send over eventually.
Well, according the Salon.com, with only 37% of eligible voters
casting ballots in the midterm (yump, Obama was including non eligible voters
in his numbers!); our friendly ultra liberal Senator Sanders wants to make Election
Day a national holiday. Because like, A) so many non-voting Democrats have jobs
and B) because such a large part of the Democrat base is not poor people making
minimum wage working at stores that are really only closed on Christmas day.
Oh, wait never mind, the only thing this proposal would do is increase the
number of days off Federal employees and contractors have, and create basically
another 3 day weekend. Great, just what we needed, another day the Feds are
staying home not doing anything.
On second thought, that will be one less day a year that the
government is making onerous regulations! Now that is something I can support!
So that’s right, the only change after this biggest election
year change in power in history will result in nothing but another holiday for
Federal Employees. Well, I guess that means everyone’s a winner!
