The Racist Black Vote

The midterm election is less than three weeks away, and people are already starting to make predictions about who will win and what it will mean to the nation depending on who wins and who will have a mandate and how they should use it. *Yawn* They then site polls, statistics, and trends to back them up. *Snore* Then other people start dissection what those people say and adding further comments on it. *Lumberjack level snore*

Kinda reminds you of the ancient Jews and their commentaries on the commentaries of the Torah.
Makes me wish for the days when someone ran for office saying that they were going to do something, instead of saying what everyone what to hear with a wink and a nod to their base.
But regardless, this brings me to what I was reading to that in order to win, Democrats have to turn on the “Black and Brown vote” in order to win. If they don’t, it’s all over and the Republicans will take over the Senate.

Now, this might be, and very likely is, is just an elaborate ploy to scare Black voters into going to the polls on Election Day. But putting that aside, the article raises several interesting thoughts.
I would like to go back to earlier this year, when the immigration debate was all the rage. Do you remember what the Democrats (hereinafter “Dems”) were saying to the Republicans about the Comprehensive Immigration reform legislation? That if the Republicans didn’t support it, they (the Republicans) would be on the wrong side of history and be a minority party for a generation? Now, all of a sudden, the Democrat Party is going to be the minority party without these minority votes?

First off, it was a Republican, President Lincoln, who fought the free the slaves against the Dems (aka the Confederacy).  Come to think of it, the Republican Party was started as an anti-slavery movement.  Further, a greater percentage of Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than did the Democrats. Republicans have been on the right side of history as far as rights for Blacks go for 150 + years, and we still only get like 5% of their vote. So color me skeptical about this whole idea that Republicans have to be on the right side of history in order to get the minority vote. The Democrat Party is a living example to the contrary.

I mean really, do you think the Dems are going to tell or help the Republicans do anything that would threaten the Dems strangle hold on the Black vote? I think not! Anyone in the Republican Party who follows the Dems advice on this is the modern equivalent of someone in the Old West buying snake oil from a traveling salesman.

Also, I know that it is a political fact, but why does the black vote support the Dems so much? I don’t understand it (see historical notes above). Additionally:
  • Isn’t it the Dems who are advocating for millions more low skilled workers who will compete directly with Blacks for jobs?
  • Isn’t it the Dems who are keeping the southern board wide open, allowing innumerable drugs to flow into inner cities, bringing with them the violence, poverty, and broken families common with drug use?
  • Isn’t it the Dems who oppose voter ID laws because they “disproportionally affect minorities” (i.e. Isn’t it the Dems who who think Black people are so dumb they wouldn’t be able to figure out how to vote if they had to bring an ID?)? [Additional side note, I don’t hear those same arguments made about having to show an ID to cash a check or drink alcohol!].
  • Isn’t it the Dems who are, and have been, in charge of every major city since the ‘70’s, and aren’t those cities the main places with Black poverty and violence?
  • Aren’t those the same cities that when you drive through them you can easily tell where the black community lives because that is the worst, most dangerous part of town?
  • Isn’t it the Dems who, when forced to allow people in those crime infested cities to get a concealed carry license  (such as Chicago and DC), they make getting the license and gun, a tool with which a Black person could defend themself, something so onerous and expensive that only rich people (aka non-black people living in rich, non-dangerous neighborhoods) are able to get them?

I could go on and on, but really, you get the idea. The point is, with all this going against them, maybe the Black vote should stay home and make their voice heard another way.

Global Warming “Pause”

Global Warming bugs me to no end. You have all these super rich people from all sorts of places, like San Francisco, New York, and DC, telling us all the world will end. Why? They say it is because everyone is killing the world with CO2 because we are all driving cars and flying in airplanes. The CO2  these machines are producing will cause rapid warming (like what would happen in a closed car in summer).

The results will be: more storms, less storms, more severe storms, less rain, more rain, droughts, death, war, and massive flooding of coastal and island communities leading to mass displacement, starvation, and death, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera (said in a very “The King and I” tone, delivery, and attire).

Yes, I picture global warming supporters as half naked toga wearing dictators.

Come’on, that made you laugh.

My favorite part of all this is the sea level rise. 15-20 years ago, we were told that if we didn’t do anything in 15-20 years, there would be nothing that could be done to save the world. So If there is nothing that can be done, why aren’t these people buying “beach front property” in the California desert since that is where the coast line will be after all this sea level rising? Or what about a nice summer home on the South Pole? I am sure they could get a great deal on some land on Greenland’s northern coast!

If they really believe all this, why don’t they put their own money down to prove the point?

Oh, yeah, my bad…Al Gore is too busy looking for his 10th mansion. How many mansions does he have anyway? I am sure people like him are driving up the cost of real estate on Long Island (speaking of, isn’t that supposed to be under water by now anyway?).

And this whole CO2  thing. Did you know that CO2  is the smallest part, by percentage, of all the gasses in the atmosphere? Yes, it makes up (according to my very quick Google search), 0.04%.  Are we doubling this amount each year? No. What about every 10 years? Nope. Double over the last 100 years? Nope. Have we doubled it since the industrial revolution? NOPE.

CO2 has only increased about 30% since the Industrial Revolution. BUT WE ARE NEAR THE BRINK OF UTTER RUIN! Donate $5 now and show those people who don’t believe in global warming how much you care!

Sorry, was getting caught up in the moment there.

If Al Gore, the Sierra Club, and Greenpeace weren’t multimillion dollar entities, I would question their basic math skills. But they are, so I can’t. Or maybe they are just really good at making people feel guilty as they are flying in private jets and commute daily from one country to another to make sure you know how bad this CO2 stuff is!

So I just want to summarize: Something that makes up 0.04% of the total atmosphere, that made up like 0.03% of the total atmosphere like half a millennia ago, but might soon increase to 0.045%, might kill us all.

Even the EPA agrees with me! They are now classifying CO2 as a hazardous pollutant.

Shhh…nobody tell the trees and algae that they are reliant on a hazardous pollutant.

So going back to the car in summer example, this whole panic of the increase would be like increasing the heating ability of like, well 6 square inches of car window glass. And we all know, that little 2 inch by 3 inch section of your car window glass could kill you! We should immediately spend trillions of dollars to get rid of that extra little piece of glass.

Or not. :)

The Middle Class and the Minimum Wage

Why is it when we, or at least certain politicians, talk about the middle class, it focuses on raising the minimum wage?

I know that talking about why you are writing a blog is sometimes the first thing people do, with great platitudes about the things they will say along with the information and thoughts they will convey. But there are too many things about which to write and very little time in which to do it, but suffice to say that this blog is about politics. My view of politics.

And let me assure you, my view of politics is hysterical. And accurate. And awesome.

So let’s get down to this whole thing about the “poor” in America. First off, if being poor in America is so bad, why is 25% of the Mexican population living in America? Last time I checked with my ‘friends’ in CA and DC, we need more of these people to do jobs Americans won’t do. Also known as, jobs that don’t pay well.

Fact 1 for today: Being poor in American is way better than being poor anywhere else.

And then there is this idea that there are jobs Americans won’t do. That is a load of junk. And as an American, I find that offensive. There are lots of jobs Americans do that no one else wants to do. We have shed blood and dollars to fight Nazism, fascism, and communism. And then building the Panama Canal. We built railroads across the US in the matter of a few years, invented flight, landed on the moon, and have brought freedom to more people than any other country in the history of the world. And you are telling me there are jobs Americans won’t do? Yeah, you were clearly educated in public school, or at Harvard (they are kinda the same thing).

Well, let me give you a job Americans will do – they will go out and builds machine that will harvest your strawberries, mow your lawns, and clean your homes. All for the price of a little electricity.
Second, there are no jobs that Americans won’t do. How do I know this? Well, if I gave you a million dollars a day to clean sewers, unless you are Warren Buffet or a stuck up rich kid, you are going to take that job. You might only work it for a week, but you will still do it.

So what it really comes down to compensation. You can’t sit there and tell me that there are jobs Americans won’t do when there are tens of millions of people who don’t have jobs but want them. They just won’t do them for $7.25 an hour (and a lot of illegals are paid even less than that). But if employers were to pay $20 an hour, they’d have to beat people away from their farms with a stick!
Fact 2 for today: If you pay Americans enough, they will do anything.

And this brings me to the funniest thing about this whole debate. Have you noticed how the language has changed? No longer are we worried about the middle class, those making $80,000 a year. No, when we talk about the middle class, we start talking about how we need to give people $15 an hour for minimum wage, all in the same breath! Since when, EVER, has the minimum wage been considered middle class?  And when on earth did it become a winning campaign strategy? Like seriously, the minimum wage was established so that employers did not take advantage of people who were just starting out in life. But it was never designed as a lifelong career choice. Get work experience, then move to a better job.

So this begs the question, who then, is poor from these people’s minds? Well, only those people who get assistance from the government. So when someone is talking about the poor, they are talking about those who need stuff from the Federal government. With the middle class being those who make minimum wage this means that, according to these leaders pushing this agenda (mostly the President and his supporters), everyone else is rich. Yump, making $40,000 a year makes you rich.

Give me a break.

And I would just like to leave you with a thought: remember that when these same people who talk about helping the poor and that the rich should pay their fair share, they don’t mean Robin Hood. Let me tell you what they mean. These politicians are going to guilt trip ‘rich people’ into voting them into office to ‘help’ poor people, and then they will buy the votes of poor people with the tax dollars of the rich people (through increased taxes – aka making sure everyone pays their ‘fair share’).
Have you ever stopped to wonder why the statement ‘everyone should pay their fair share’ always involves increasing taxes? Just asking….

And I am stuck at the car repair place, so I am going to expand on this whole Robin Hood robbing the rich and giving it to the poor. I know that is what the stories say, but let’s look at this, the people who were robbed by Robin Hood, you know, the king, the sheriff, the nobles – they weren’t rich people - they were the government! Thus, when Robin Hood robbed, he wasn’t robbing the ‘rich,’ he was taking from the government!
